CPR for Family & Friends – Combined adult, child and infant

(2½ hours approx. 1 hour, 15 minutes without Infant CPR Infant Only: 1 hour, 15 minutes approx.)

The Family & Friends CPR program teaches how to perform CPR in adults, children, or infants and how to help an adult, child, or infant who is choking.

Suited for family members, friends and members of the general community who want to learn CPR but do not need a course completion card.

This program also can be a non-credentialed option for middle- and high-school students.

Each candidate receives a Family & Frinends CPR Student Book, Adult CPR Reminder, Infant & Child CPR Reminder and a Participation Card.

Family & Friends First Aid for Children

To Whom It May Concern:

(45 mins approx)

The new Family &Friends First Aid for Children program teaches how to manage illness and injuries in a child for the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This program covers such topics as preventing injuries, recognizing and treating basic first aid emergencies, and relief of choking in infants and children.

Suitable for those caring forinfants and children, such as family members, babysitters, and others providing in-home care, who want basic first aid information but who do not need a course completion credential.

To Whom It May Concern: Each candidate receives a Family & Friends First Aid for Children Student Book and a Participation Card.

Heartsaver CPR

To Whom It May Concern:

(3 hours approx. 2 hours withoutInfant CPR)

The Heartsaver CPR Course teaches CPR and relief of choking in adults and children, and infant CPR and relief of choking, and use of barrier devices for all ages.

Suitable for those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements.

There is a skills test at the end of this course, and each candidate receives a Heartsaver CPR Student Book, Heartsaver Student CD, Adult CPR Reminder, Child & Infant CPR Reminder and a Course Completion Card.

Heartsaver AED

(3.5 hours approx. 2.5 hours withoutInfant CPR)

The American Heart Association Heartsaver AED (automated external defibrillator) course combines hands-on AED instruction with adult CPR training. It is much like the Heartsaver CPR course, but includes the use of an AED.

The Heartsaver AED course is for individuals who need to learn CPR and how to operate an AED. The intended audience includes corporate employees, security personnel, emergency medical technicians, firefighters, police officers, airline personnel, and those who need or want to learn CPR and operate an AED.

There is a skills test at the end of this course, and each candidate receives a Heartsaver AED Student Book, Heartsaver Student CD, Adult CPR Reminder, Child & Infant CPR Reminder and a Course Completion Card.

Heartsaver CPR in Schools

(3 hours approx. 2 hours withoutInfant CPR)

The Heartsaver CPR in Schools Course teaches CPR and relief of choking in adults and children, and infant CPR and relief of choking, and use of barrier devices for all ages. The course is designed to be run in a class envionment, and is broken down into 45 minute "periods" to accomodate school classes. The material is also specifically designed and relevant to school-goers.

Suitable for middle- and high school students seeking to learn CPR and get a credential in CPR and/or AED.

There is a skills test at the end of this course, and each candidate receives a Heartsaver CPR in Schools Student Book, Heartsaver Student CD, Adult CPR Reminder, Child & Infant CPR Reminder and a Course Completion Card.

BLS for HCP 

(4.5 Hours approx)

The BLS for HCP course covers core materials such as Adult & Paediatric CPR(including 2-rescuer CPR and the use of a Bag Valve Mask), Foreign Airway Body Obstruction, and Automated External Defibrillation - AED.

Suitable for Healt Care Providers such as EMS Personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses and respiratory therapists etc. who must have a credential documentating succesful completion of a CPR course at a health care provider level. It is also a entry prequesite for any of the AHA ALS courses.

There is a written exam and a skills test at the end of this course, and each candidate receives a BLS for HCP Student Manual, BLS for HCP Student CD and a Course Completion Card.

First Aid Level 1

(20 Hours)

Level 1 first aid complies with the minimum standard for the workplace as per the Occupational Safety Act. One in every 20 employees at each office should be trained in at least level 1 first Aid.

The course includes:

Principles of first aid and safety; Emergency scene management.

Artificial respiration.

One-rescuer CPR.

Choking.

Wounds and bleeding.

Shock, unconsciousness and fainting.

Fractures.

Burns.

Head and spinal injuries.

First Aid Level 2 & 3

(40 Hours)

Level 2 & 3 First Aid are combined to make the rescuer more proficient in first aid. The students learn more detail of Anatomy & Physiology, and goes into more detail with first aid.
